Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem, experiencing the worsening of an existing mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis. Just like physical first aid is provided until medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate support is found or until the crisis is resolved. These two-day courses train you to be a Mental Health First Aider.
MHFA Basic is intended for anyone who wishes to learn more about mental health. This course focuses on the four most common mental health disorders including substance related, mood related, anxiety and trauma related, and psychotic disorders. Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with their family, friends, communities, and workplaces.
Cost: $300

Due to COVID-19, workshops will be set up to allow for physical distancing. We will ensure the following provisions will be available for our workshop:
- hand sanitizer available for use.
- additional cleaning of room and tables prior to each day of training
All participants will continue to follow the normal precautions to minimize the spread of infectious disease, including washing your hands thoroughly and regularly, sneezing or coughing into your elbow rather than your hand, and disinfecting surfaces that are frequently touched. Participants who do not will be asked to leave. We encourage anyone that is feeling ill to not attend the workshop. The facilitator will have the right to refuse entry to the workshop if a person is displaying any cold/flu symptoms. Masks are recommended as per provincial health orders.
