Vocational Rehabilitation
The Vocational Rehabilitation Program supports individuals living with mental health challenges in exploring, developing, and achieving their employment, volunteer, educational, and vocational goals.
Using a recovery-oriented and person-centred approach, the program helps participants identify their strengths, interests, abilities, and aspirations while providing practical support to build confidence, independence, and workplace readiness.
Participants have opportunities to gain experience through volunteer placements both within the community and at Connections Clubhouse. These placements help individuals develop meaningful routines, strengthen social and workplace skills, build self-confidence, and work toward future employment or educational goals.
Services may include:
- Vocational assessments and goal planning
- Identification of employment interests, strengths, and abilities
- Resume and cover letter development
- Interview preparation and job search support
- Volunteer and community placement opportunities
- Workplace readiness and skill development
- On-the-job coaching and support
- Community integration and social connection
- Educational and career exploration
- Support with maintaining employment and achieving vocational goals
The program recognizes that meaningful activity, employment, education, and community involvement are important components of recovery and overall wellness.
This program is provided in partnership with Northern Health Rehabilitation Services.
